Last Week in Room 28

What a successful Back to School Night on Tuesday! It was terrific meeting everyone. There was so much information to share; contact me if there are any additional questions! Mrs. Slezinger's email
I can tell it is going to be a spectacular year!

We had two birthdays last week! We wish Jordyn and Brianna great years!

What happened?
In Language Arts, we worked on making inferences and continued our studies of character and setting. We used clues from stories and what we already know to determine what is happening. In other words, we inferred.
We finished up our "If I Were in Charge of the World" poems!
Next week we will work on Main Idea and Supporting Details. We will even make up team stories. Look for them to be posted soon!

In math, we finished addition and subtraction of decimals. One day, while purchasing items for the Slezinger Store,  as cashier, I made some bad mistakes giving them change. They had to figure out what mistakes I made and how much change was actually owed to them! It was a fun way to learn decimal subtraction! Up next, multiplication review. Be sure to brush up on your multiplication math facts!

In Science, we finished up our study of the Solar System and will have our  first Science test on Wednesday! Next, we will work on designing and describing controlled experiments AND using graphing conventions to display data for analysis. If you want a preview, click here FOSS Water Planet

In Social Studies, they finished up their study of explorers! Moving on to developing the colonies. Remember to study those states and capitals! Click here for some fun games at USA Games

In Health, they are working on determining positive characteristics that describe themselves! These sheets are due on Thursday and must include a photo!
