Roving Reporter- The Life of Room 28
By: Orion, #5, August 28, 2012
This is Orion reporting live from room 28 at Welby Way bringing you all the events that happened today. To start the day, Mrs. Slezinger picked us up at 8:00 a.m. and took us to our classroom. She then turned on “Walking On Sunshine” so we could unpack and get ready to start our morning work before the song was over. Next, she passed out papers called "may do’s" to complete when we were finished with all our work. Then, we started signing the paper with all our rules printed with four different colors. Mrs. Slezinger said we all had to sign it before the end of the day. After that, we went the computer lab to type our “If I Were In Charge Of The World poems” and finish our practice book pages. Then, the recess bell rang and we grabbed our snacks and went to the yard. Most of the boys played soccer. After recess, we took out our math and learned how to add and subtract decimals. About an hour later, the music went off to alert us that it was time for lunch. We went to eat our lunch. When we got back to the cold classroom, Mrs. Slezinger read us one and a half chapters of Among The Hidden. The people who didn’t finish math had to finish it at this time. The chapter was about how Luke sees actions that make him believe there is another child in the Sports Family’s home. I can’t wait to read another chapter tomorrow. After she read, we had to finish our poem and our Picasso art for back to school night. At about 1:15, Mrs. Slezinger dismissed us one by one to get our backpacks and pack up. When we were packed up, we organized the classroom for back to school night. We swept the floor, cleaned bookshelves, and organized desks. When we finished we said bye to Mrs. Slezinger and went home. It was an awesome day in room 28!
